Editorial and corrections policy

ResearchHub publishes two different kinds of public information: original platform editorial content and scholarly metadata assembled from research records and external providers. We label and manage these categories differently so visitors can understand what ResearchHub wrote, what was supplied by a user and what originated in scholarly metadata.

Original editorial content

ResearchHub Insights, platform explainers, policy pages and official product announcements are written or commissioned for ResearchHub. They are reviewed for clarity, factual consistency and relevance before publication. Editorial pages should not be created merely to attract search traffic; each page should answer a real question about research discovery, metadata, identity, provenance or the operation of the platform.

Material changes to original editorial content should preserve the meaning of earlier published statements or make the correction clear when an earlier statement was inaccurate.

Imported scholarly metadata

Publication titles, abstracts, author strings, identifiers, journal information, citation relationships and similar scholarly fields may originate from external metadata providers. Their presence on ResearchHub does not mean that ResearchHub authored the underlying scholarly work or independently verified every scientific conclusion it contains.

Imported records are subject to graph and quality gates before prominent public discovery. Placeholder titles, implausible dates, duplicate identities and low-confidence records may be withheld from public surfaces while reconciliation or review continues.

User-generated content

Questions, answers, datasets, profiles and other community contributions can be supplied by registered users. ResearchHub may limit indexing of pages that are incomplete, unanswered, duplicated or missing substantive research material. This is a quality measure, not a judgment about the contributor.

Users remain responsible for the accuracy and rights status of content they submit. ResearchHub may remove, correct, restrict or relabel material that violates platform rules, creates a misleading identity or cannot be supported by appropriate evidence.

Corrections and record disputes

If a visitor identifies an incorrect title, duplicate work, mistaken author identity, affiliation problem or other metadata issue, ResearchHub can review the underlying evidence and provenance. Corrections may involve updating a field, suppressing a duplicate public record, linking records to a canonical identity or retaining competing source evidence until the conflict is resolved.

ResearchHub avoids silently manufacturing certainty where the evidence is ambiguous. A disputed relationship may remain unverified rather than being forced into the public graph.

How to request a correction

Send the affected ResearchHub URL, a short description of the problem and any supporting identifier or source to support@aresearch.uk. You can also use the contact and support page.
