RSIS-2026.1 · Methodology 2026.1
RSIS is ResearchHub's independent scientist-ranking framework. It uses documented researcher metrics and admitted public scholarly-graph evidence. It does not reproduce proprietary rankings, journal prestige scores or reputation surveys, and ranking position cannot be purchased.

Career citations, career H-index and career i10 are compared as field-aware percentiles. The public graph never substitutes a missing metric with zero.
Citation-per-paper, share of works with at least 10 citations, and fractional citation impact adjusted by publication author count.
Recent five-year citations, H-index, i10-index and recent publication output are kept separate from career indicators.
Admitted publication output, first-author share and documented research-career span. Raw volume alone cannot dominate the score.
Collaboration breadth, open-access share and stable verified scholarly identity. These are evidence signals, not reputation votes.
Retracted works are excluded from impact calculations. Any retraction flag moves certificate issuance to manual review instead of presuming misconduct.
A raw citation count is not treated as directly comparable across all disciplines. Each quantitative signal is converted to a percentile within the declared subdiscipline or discipline when at least five researchers have comparable evidence. Smaller cohorts fall back to the overall eligible cohort rather than inventing a field baseline.
Career and recent five-year indicators are calculated separately. Missing values remain unavailable, and an official overall score requires all six RSIS pillars to be available.
A researcher must be in the top 25% of the field cohort or better, meet the identity and evidence thresholds, and have no unresolved integrity-review flag. Certificates are verifiable from their ResearchHub certificate ID.

RSIS 2026.1 uses the evidence ResearchHub can document consistently today. Provider-supported self-citation exclusion, year-and-field top-1%/top-10% paper baselines, contribution taxonomies such as CRediT, dataset/software impact and richer peer-review evidence will be added only when the underlying source data are sufficiently complete and auditable. Until then they are not silently estimated.
The six pillar weights are fixed for this methodology version: Scientific Impact 30% · Research Influence & Quality 20% · Recent Performance 20% · Productivity & Contribution 15% · Research Leadership & Open Science 10% · Research Integrity 5%.
