Abstract
This brief chapter summarises the yield of Chapters 4, 5, and 6. It argues that, in the light of those chapters, the central question of this book – about how Christians are to live with, respond to, or navigate the astonishing variety of ways in which Jesus has been and is being interpreted and followed around the world – means asking how we can make sense of the Jesus who goes on being received in an illimitable variety of imagined bodies, each always in the process of being assembled, each a hybrid, each entangled with the life of some community or individual in the midst of the world, each a mixture of the life-giving and the death-dealing, each a reading of scripture, and each an experiment in love.
