The Philosopher’s Overriding Obligation to Talk with Men in Power

Philosophy has the potential to do more benefit to greater numbers of people if it is allied with power. A philosopher should not avoid men of power and if they succeed in improving those on whom many people rely, they can benefit the many also and do a public service through their philosophising, and correcting the state of the government.
