Abstract
Extract Beyond the established treatment goal of low-risk status in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) [1], haemodynamic thresholds for complete and partial remission have recently been proposed as deeper treatment targets [2, 3]. Upfront triple therapy including intravenous (IV) epoprostenol has yielded marked haemodynamic improvement [4] and should be considered in treatment-naïve patients at high or intermediate risk with severe haemodynamic impairment [1]. These haemodynamic effects suggest that this may represent a strategy for achieving haemodynamic remission.
