Mapping the analytical landscape of seasonal malaria chemoprevention impact evaluation using routine surveillance data: a rapid scoping review

Routine health facility data are increasingly used for this purpose, offering longitudinal observations before and after SMC introduction. However, inferring intervention impact from routine data is challenging because of complex disease dynamics, the absence of an observable counterfactual, confounding from concurrent interventions, and limitations in routine data quality and reporting. Objective To map and characterise analytical approaches used to retrospectively evaluate SMC impact using routine health facility data.
