Abstract
The aim of the article is to analyze, from a therapeutic perspective, the categories of love, and community in the novel Adesso che sei qui by Mariapia Veladiano. Unlike classic autopathographies, in which the narrator is the sick person, here the narrator is the niece, who is also a caregiver. The change of perspective highlights the role of the family and more generally of the community in treatment, the possibility of transforming one of the pathologies with the most dramatic course and impact on family relationships (Alzheimer’s disease) into “a new and unexpected season of humanity”.
