Abstract
Translating poetry means delving deep into the mysteries of the author's poetics. In the case of “¡Aleluya!” from La pipa de Kif by Valle-Inclán, the poem offers a programmatic overview of the modern aesthetic championed by Valle on a literary, formal, ideological, cultural and even vitalistic level, with his usual sense of humour and provocation.
