Abstract
The article is devoted to a reflection on the place of narratives of mothers raising children with disabilities in recent literature, which fight against the social stereotypes that function in circulation. The topic is analyzed on the example of selected reports by Jacek Hołub from the books titled So That It Dies Before Me: Stories of Mothers of Disabled Children and Naughty: Stories of Children with ADHD, Autism, and Asperger’s Syndrome. The article aims to draw attention to the matricentric turn that appears in recent literature, as well as to the functions performed by matrifocal narratives.
