The Application of the Concept of “Extended Cognition” in Polish Language Teaching: Critical Discussion of Annie Murphy Paul’s “The Extended Mind: The Power of Thinking Outside the Brain”

Starting from the discoveries of social neuroscience and the principles of Polish language teaching, the author proposes a critical discussion of Annie Murphy Paul’s The Extended Mind: The Power of Thinking Outside the Brain (2021). She presents the concept of the “extended mind”, i.e. the specificity of thinking based on the senses, the environment, and other people. The conclusions aim to expand the concept to include genetic determinants and propose a reference to the principles of Polish language teaching. The most important findings concern the ways of organising teamwork (“expert tables”, the de Bono method, project) and the creation of a system for their evaluation.
