Abstract
The article refers to the diaries of the village school in Mydlita near Bytów in the first post-war decade. The small school in the period of Stalinism became a representative testimony of its times, a source of knowledge about the changes resulting from the progressive ideologization of education, a contribution to considerations on the impact of great history on a small rural institution. A special role in building a “new man” and in rebuilding the mentality of the young generation was to be played by the socialist content of education and upbringing promoted by the state, which is particularly illustrated by the teaching material of the Polish language and history.
