Abstract
This work is focused on the synthesis and structural characterization of the novel Cu(I)/Cu(II) π,σ-complex [Cu₃(C₁₁H₁₂N₄S)₂Cl₄] (1) with the 3-allylthio-5-phenyl-4H-1,2,4-tri azol-4-amine(Apta)ligand. Crystals of the compound were obtained by the direct reaction of CuCl₂·2H₂O and Apta in the acetonitrile solution and studied by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal structure of complex 1 is built from isolated fragments, which are composed of a {Cuᴵ₂(Apta)₂}²⁺ organometallic subunit linked to a {CuᴵᴵCl₄}²⁻ moiety. Fragments in 1 are interconnected through strong N—H···Cl and weaker C—H···Cl hydro gen bonds, as well as by Cl···π interactions into H-bonded layers.
