Abstract
Background and Purpose:
The Antenatal (Psychosocial) Risk Questionnaire (ANRQ), which can also be used in the postpartum period, was adapted into Turkish. Its psychometric properties were examined in two separate samples: a 12-item version for the antenatal period and a 10-item version for the postnatal period.
Methods:
The study was conducted with pregnant and postpartum women. The questionnaire was translated into Turkish, and content validity, construct validity, internal consistency, and test–retest reliability were evaluated.
Results:
The Turkish version demonstrated good content validity and high internal consistency (coefficient alpha >.80). Test–retest analyses indicated stability over time. Confirmatory factor analysis based on the final models showed acceptable to good model fit for both the ANRQ (root mean square error of approximation [RMSEA] = .074, comparative fit index [CFI] = .923, incremental fit index [IFI] = .924) and the Postnatal (Psychosocial) Risk Questionnaire (POSTRQ; RMSEA = .062, CFI = .952, IFI = .975), supporting the construct validity of the Turkish versions.
Conclusions:
The Turkish ANRQ and POSTRQ are valid and reliable tools for identifying psychosocial risks during the antenatal and postnatal periods and can be applied in clinical practice and research.
