Abstract
An overview dedicated to the main ranges of electromagnetic radiation and its application in the non-destructive quality control of industrial products. The characteristics of radiation for direct organoleptic and indirect control methods are discussed. The physical principles of operation, advantages, limitations, and hygiene risks for personnel in ranges from gamma radiation to radio waves are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the impact of ultraviolet and infrared radiation, which create critical loads on the eyes and skin of operators. The conclusions are supported by a comparative table of ranges, control methods, hazards, and protection effectiveness.
