Abstract
Three chiral 1,2-diamines were successfully synthesized from readily available (R)-2-phenyl-2-(piperidin-1-yl)ethan-1-ol. The reaction proceeded through the regioselective ring opening of a common N,N-dialkylaziridinium ion by weakly nucleophilic anilines. The structures of newly synthesized diamines were confirmed by 1H and 13C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, infrared (IR) spectroscopy, and high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS). Anticancer activity assays of the synthesized compounds are currently underway.
