Abstract
This paper presents the results of a survey on the influence of air spring pressure on ride comfort and the load applied to electric vehicles subjected to random excitation from road surfaces of types B, C, D, and E. The real-world operating conditions are studied. The velocity range is from 30 km/h to 60 km/h, and the air spring pressures are from 4*10

to 10*10

Pa according to ISO 8608:2016 standards. For the dynamic analysis of the vehicle, the RMS vehicle body acceleration and dynamic load coefficient (k
d
) were used as evaluation criteria. The increase in pressure in the air spring increases the stiffness of the suspension system, resulting in greater vehicle body oscillation and less ride comfort. Furthermore, the dynamic wheel load increases significantly, especially on uneven roads and at higher speeds. Comparing road classes reveals that vehicle dynamics deteriorate significantly when transitioning from road class B to road class E. Based on the investigated road conditions and vehicle speeds, suitable air spring pressure ranges are identified to provide a compromise between ride comfort and tire-road contact capability. These findings provide practical guidance for pressure selection in air-suspended electric vehicles under random road excitation.
