Abstract
In today's world, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is redefining the structure of most, if not all, fields. In recent years, there has been a significant rise in the use of AI tools and their role in achieving fast-paced results that were previously unattainable. With the constant technological advancements in computer science and the development of new AI tools, our perception of creativity has been altered. This notion challenges current architectural pedagogy as there is a disintegration between architectural education and the digital world. This is due to many educators being trained in a pre-digital age, teaching students from the digital age, and hindering the effective teaching of modern digital tools. While these tools immensely improve the design outputs, they risk over-reliance and redefine the role of architects. Integrating AI tools into the architectural education process challenges traditional education methodologies but also encourages students' creativity and expands the exploration of innovative design concepts. This paper explores how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be integrated into the various stages of architectural design education. It examines the potential impact of AI throughout the design process and identifies suitable tools and applications that align with each educational stage, aiming to enhance both teaching methodologies and student outcomes. The study highlights the importance of aligning AI tools with the pedagogical objectives of the design studio. It concludes that responsible integration of AI can enrich architectural education by fostering creativity, efficiency, and critical thinking.
