Abstract
The integration of active learning methodologies and generative artificial intelligence can foster the development of more dynamic, participatory, personalized learning experiences aligned with contemporary educational demands. From this perspective of bringing technology and active pedagogical practices together, this study aimed to develop a practical guide for planning, designing, and implementing the station rotation methodology with the support of generative artificial intelligence. To this end, nine stages were organized into the areas of planning, development, and implementation of the methodology, ranging from the definition of the central theme to formative assessment. As a practical demonstration of the proposal, a station rotation activity based on Hans Christian Andersen’s short story The Little Match Girl was developed for fourth-grade elementary school students, using ChatGPT to create pedagogical resources, including a memory game, a literary Stop game, narrative sequencing cards, an educational die, and an interactive wheel. The development of the proposal demonstrated that artificial intelligence can contribute to optimizing teachers’ time, expanding creative possibilities, and supporting the development of more contextualized and diversified practices. It is therefore concluded that, by following the structure proposed in the practical guide, generative artificial intelligence can be intentionally and systematically integrated into the station rotation methodology, fostering more flexible, participatory pedagogical practices centered on student agency.
