Abstract
This contribution studies a Crucifixion of Saint Andrew, unpublished, preserved at the Cathedral of Bordeaux. Erroneously attributed to Jan Sanders van Hemessen, this is actually the work of one of his most talented students, an anonymous painter named Master of Paul and Barnabas, after a painting kept in the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest. Active in Antwerp between 1530 and 1560, this master probably worked for export, several of his paintings being preserved in Spain, among others the Nativity Triptych of Tenerife.
