Abstract
Статистический анализ с применением U-критерия Манна–Уитни и T-критерия Вилкоксона выявил в экспериментальной группе значимые положительные изменения (p This paper presents the results of a quasi-experimental evaluation of the author-developed "Intercultural Dialogue" training program aimed at fostering ethnocultural communicative competence among cadets of educational organizations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Russia. The study is motivated by the necessity to account for cultural characteristics of the population in law enforcement activities and the existing deficit of active teaching methods focused on developing practical skills for intercultural interaction. Ethnocultural competence is conceptualized as an integrative personal construct comprising cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and motivational components, with particular attention to the role of autostereotypes and heterostereotypes in officers' professional perception. The empirical basis of the study consisted of data collected from 35 fourth-year cadets (17 in the experimental group, 18 in the control group). The assessment battery included the methods developed by G.U. Soldatova and S.V. Ryzhova and by A.N. Tatarko and N.M. Lebedeva, as well as author-designed situational tasks modeling typical professional dilemmas encountered in interactions with citizens from diverse ethnic groups. Statistical analysis using the Mann–Whitney U-test and Wilcoxon signed-rank test revealed significant positive changes in the experimental group (p < 0.05): positive ethnic identity increased by 17.1%, ethno-egoism decreased by 34.8%, ethno-isolationism decreased by 33.5%, while the proportion of correct solutions to situational tasks rose from 59% to 88%. No similar changes were observed in the control group. The findings confirm that integrating specialized training programs into the educational process serves as an effective mechanism for preventing interethnic conflicts and enhancing the efficiency of professional activities of law enforcement officers.
