Abstract
This study aims to develop an e-module for science and natural sciences (IPAS) to improve the independence of elementary school students in learning science on climate change and its mitigation. Learning independence is an important aspect of elementary education because it encourages students to take responsibility for their learning, seek information independently, and actively engage in solving problems. However, learning about climate change and its mitigation requires students to understand complex concepts and apply them to everyday life, so appropriate and engaging learning materials are needed to support independent learning. This study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model. The subjects were fifth-grade students and their class teachers at SDIT Nurjali. The instruments used in the study included an expert validation questionnaire, teacher and student response questionnaires, and a student independence questionnaire. The results showed that the e-module for science and natural sciences received a feasibility score of 100% from media experts, 97% from language experts, and 100% from material experts, categorizing it as very feasible. Teacher responses received a 100% score, and student responses received a 92% score, categorizing it as very practical. Furthermore, the initial independence questionnaire scored 53%, while the final independence questionnaire scored 89%, indicating an increase in independence by 36%. Thus, the e-module for science and natural sciences is declared feasible, practical, and effective for use in science and natural sciences learning in elementary schools.
