Abstract
The article looks at the problems of the socio-cultural context in the art of installation. The author analyzes different views on the problem and proves that in modern society, installation is an important factor that has an impact on public life. The article explores various aspects of the influence of installation projects on the viewer, examines the evolution of this influence and the characteristics of the installation as a phenomenon in interaction with the viewer. The author proves that the socio-cultural aspect of the installation, as one of the most popular manifestations of contemporary art, is particularly active in the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. This is due to the fact that the visual-theatrical and philosophical meanings, characteristic for installation projects, increasingly carry a social color. Orientation to the viewer, creating conditions for artificial reality, allow the installation to boldly interfere with the formulation and solution of the most pressing issues of our time.
