Abstract
This editorial marks sixty years of Architektúra & Urbanizmus, weighing tradition against the need for renewal. It traces the journal's path from its reformist origins through normalization to English-language publishing and indexing in WoS and Scopus. The text examines how bibliometric evaluation — impact factors, quartiles, citation counts — now dominates judgments of scientific quality, favouring standardized, commercially-driven "Big Five" journals over distinctive editorial voices. Rejecting anonymity and false objectivity, the board affirms its intent to actively shape content, preserve print and visual identity, and strengthen the journal's role as a platform for critical, historically grounded discourse.
