Abstract
The Stebnytske potassium salt deposit is located 1.5 km from the Truskavets balneological resort, within its second and third sanitary zones, in the Carpathian foothills of the Lviv region of Ukraine, on the Boryslav-Pokutsky cover of the Pre-Carpathian forward trough, i.e. directly in the area where the latter joins the system Carpathians, this determines the significant complexity of its tectonic structure. Mine No. 2 of the Stebnytskyi potash deposit has been in a state of emergency since 1978 due to the inflow of low-mineralized water aggressive to the salt massif from the suprasaline aquifer. This is accompanied by the weakening and destruction of the load-bearing elements of the mine workings (ceilings, ceilings, etc.) and the development of salt karst, deformations and dips of the surface, the volume of karst No. 27 and 30 is more than 1 million m³. The article presents the results of the analysis and generalization of geological structural and hydrogeological studies conducted at the deposit. These studies were conducted during 2020–2024. The work was carried out in order to assess the hydrogeological impact of existing large-scale karst sinkholes located within the Stebnytsky deposit, on the adjacent territories and the regime of Truskavets mineral waters. A diagram of the development of karst phenomena in the mine field of mine No. 2 of the Stebnytsky deposit, a diagram of the actual filling of mine No. 2 over time, reflecting changes in water levels and the zone of geomechanical (karst-failure) violations of aquifers over time. The object monitoring network of the underground hydrosphere consists of more than 40 bush observation wells drilled to suprasaline and Quaternary aquifers. Chemical analysis of water samples from observation wells and chemical analysis of selected samples of potassium salts from mine workings were carried out. The distribution and filtration properties of alluvial deposits and rocks of the gypsum-clay cap in the conditions of wet conservation of the salt mine were clarified.
