Abstract
WE, THE COMMUNISTS... An analysis of the last 20 years political resolutions of the French Communist Party congresses (1961-1979) reveals the code which is at the centre of communist discourse : « Nous, les communistes, sommes le parti de la classe ouvrière » (We, the communists, are the party of the working class). Depending on wether it emphasizes on one or another of these words, substantial discursive changes occur : with parti, discourse is institutional and Unitarian ; coalescing and sectarian with nous and classe ouvrière. This analysis also gives an account of the themes and lexicon of communist discourse.
