Abstract
Tecate, BC, Mexico, is enrolled in a program called "Pueblo mágico" which, among other things, is expected to promote tourism development in the place and one of its attractions is the cuisine with which several establishments compete, especially the "low-med" style. It is a quantitative, cross-sectional, descriptive and explanatory study. A census was carried out on 19 restaurants considered “small and medium enterprises” (PyMES), in order to determine if they have information and communication technologies (ICTs) and if there is any relationship with variables that characterize them, such as, the academic level of the owner and his age. The majority of respondents indicated that they have ICTs, being those with a bachelor's degree and those between 45 and 65 years of age who use them most. Most of the restaurants in Tecate, B.C. Mexico, do use ICTs.
