Abstract
Abstract
This paper addresses the application of the SWOT matrix as a strategic tool in educational contexts through active learning methodologies. It aims to develop skills such as critical thinking, decision-making, teamwork, and analytical reasoning, using games and simulations as facilitators of meaningful learning. The “SWOT in Extreme Situations” dynamic was developed, in which participants, divided into groups, are placed in fictional and challenging scenarios, such as a desert, uninhabited island, or ocean, to collectively build a matrix considering available resources, internal limitations, opportunities, and external threats. The methodology is based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL), promoting student protagonism and the development of cognitive and socio-emotional skills. It concludes that the planned use of games as a teaching resource contributes to meaningful learning and the development of essential skills in the contemporary educational context.
