OPTIMALISASI MEDIA LEAFLET DALAM MENINGKATKAN PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP IBU TENTANG ASI EKSLUSIF

Optimal growth and development in infants can be initiated by providing proper nutrition. Exclusive breastfeeding is suitable nutrition for babies aged 0-6 months to avoid various things that hinder their growth and development. To face the breastfeeding period, a pregnant woman needs to be prepared for her knowledge and attitudes about exclusive breastfeeding. Health education provided by health workers requires appropriate media so that messages are more easily conveyed. Leaflets are easy media to develop. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of health education using leaflets on the knowledge and attitudes of primigravida mothers about exclusive breastfeeding. The study design used one group pretest–posttest, with a sample size of 24 primigravida mothers. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The results of statistical calculations using the Wilcoxon Match Pairs Test obtained a sig 0.000 for differences in mothers' knowledge and a sig 0.001 for differences in mothers' attitudes about exclusive breastfeeding before and after being given health education using leaflet media. These results indicate that the research hypothesis is accepted. The use of leaflet media in health education can increase mothers' knowledge and attitudes about exclusive breastfeeding.
