Abstract
This article summarizes the nursing experience of a patient with peripheral facial paralysis due to wind-cold attacking the collateral syndrome. The patient developed symptoms such as loss of left forehead wrinkles, incomplete eyelid closure, and mouth corner deviation after exposure to wind-cold, accompanied by mild anxiety. In addition to Traditional Chinese and Western medications, the treatment included thermal-sensitive moxibustion combined with auricular acupoint pressing and acupuncture, along with syndrome-specific nursing, facial warmth preservation, eye and oral care, psychological counseling, and phased rehabilitation training. The nursing challenges included poor patient cooperation in the early stages due to anxiety and the need to strictly prevent corneal damage from incomplete eyelid closure. After 20 days of treatment and nursing, the patient's facial paralysis symptoms significantly improved, and anxiety was alleviated (SAS score decreased from 56 to 41). The nursing outcomes were favorable. Standardized traditional Chinese nursing practices play a positive role in ensuring treatment safety and promoting facial nerve function recovery.
