Abstract
This article summarizes the perioperative nursing experience of a patient undergoing stent implantation via jugular vein approach for idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) caused by cerebral venous sinus stenosis (CVSS). A self-expanding stent was implanted at the stenotic segment of the venous sinus for pre-adaptation, and the stent delivery system was retained in place. The key points of nursing included preoperative assessment and safety care, intraoperative venous sinus pressure measurement and jugular vein wound dressing care, and postoperative individualized and staged rehabilitation nursing intervention for the patient. The patient did not experience any complications such as stent thrombosis after the surgery. The headache Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) Scoredecreased from 8 points before the surgery to 1 point, and the visual acuity test improved from 0. 2 to 0. 6. The Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) score decreased from 59 points to 32 points. The Activities of Daily Living(ADL) score increased from 55 points to 90 points. The nursing practice indicated that precise perioperative nursing can effectively improve prognosis of the patient with IIH caused by CVSS, reduce the risk of postoperative complications, and improve the quality of life.
