Abstract
This article summarizes nursing experiences in managing a patient with septic shock induced by alcoholic ketoacidosis(AKA) who required Veno-venous Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (VV-ECMO) support. The patient was a 39-year-old male who developed AKA due to chronic excessive alcohol consumption, which subsequently triggered sepsis shock, severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome(MODS); his clinical condition is complex and critical. The nursing team implements systematic interventions based on the principle of "multi-objective dynamic balance, " including precision metabolic management, multi-organ function support, balancing the dual risk of bleeding and thrombosis, and predictive interventions for alcohol withdrawal syndrome. Through systematic medical intervention and meticulous nursing care, the patient was successfully weaned off VV-ECMO and mechanical ventilation; consciousness was restored, hemodynamic status stabilized, acidosis was corrected, and liver and kidney function improved, ultimately leading to the patient's transfer out of the ICU.
