Abstract
This chapter tells the story of Javier’s migration story—a young adult from El Salvador who, as a teenager, had to leave his homeland to help support his family economically after his father’s death. At the same time, the text portrays the violent reality of the Central American nation, marked by gang-related violence and structural injustice. This is a story of resilience that, despite the difficulties inherent to migration—both along the journey and in living as a migrant in the United States—interweaves Christian faith and hope along a path of human development.
