Abstract
This study aims to analyze the management of an entrepreneurship program in developing the economic independence of students at Pondok Pesantren Kreatif YBM PLN Sukamakmur Bogor. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving the pesantren leader, program managers, supervising teachers, and students. Data validity was ensured through source and method triangulation. The findings indicate that the entrepreneurship program management has incorporated the four management functions of planning, organizing, implementation, and supervision; however, these functions have not been implemented in a balanced manner. Implementation is the strongest function due to the supervisors’ exemplary conduct and the students’ direct involvement in business activities. In contrast, planning, organizing, and supervision remain weak because they have not been adequately documented or integrated into a standardized institutional system. The program contributes to the students’ economic independence by developing their attitudes, skills, and readiness to lead productive lives. Supporting factors include funding from zakat funds, the availability of land and production facilities, and the supervisors’ commitment and exemplary conduct. Meanwhile, the main inhibiting factors are the limited human resources available to manage the program and the weakness of its managerial system. This study concludes that a pesantren entrepreneurship program can develop students’ economic independence when managerial functions are integrated with educational functions and supported by the productive management of zakat funds. Strengthening planning documentation, organizational structures, human resources, and evaluation systems is necessary to ensure that the program does not depend on individual roles, can operate sustainably, and strengthens the pesantren’s role as a center for community economic empowerment and as a means of transforming mustahiq into muzakki.
