Abstract
The Indonesian capital market continues to grow rapidly and boasts an increasing number of daily transactions. Stocks are the most popular instrument due to their attractive profit potential. Investors can achieve substantial returns as stock prices rise. However, they can also lose their entire investment in an instant. Given the challenges of highly volatile investments, investors develop their own investment styles to suit their specific goals. One widely used method is the buy in the afternoon, sell in the morning (BSJP) method, also known as overnight trading. This study aims to analyze the validity of stock transactions using the BSJP method for sharia-compliant stocks, based on DSN-MUI fatwa no. 80 of 2011. The research method uses a qualitative approach with library research. The data sources for this study are both secondary and primary data. The research data consists of books, scientific articles, reports, and academic papers. The results indicate that the BSJP method is a derivative of the day trading method. Therefore, it can be said that the BSJP method is legally valid and does not violate Islamic law. Because day trading transactions are guided by rational and scientific technical analysis and utilize historical data, they are more forecasting than guesswork. Furthermore, BSJP transactions do not involve pump and dump, hype and dump, or the creation of fake demand/supply.
