Abstract
This research is motivated by the still dominant use of lecture methods and the limited use of digital learning media in Islamic Cultural History (SKI) learning at MTsN 2 Pamekasan which causes low student engagement and understanding. This study aims to develop Genially-based learning media on the Leadership Style of Umar bin Abdul Aziz material that is valid, practical, interesting, and effective in improving student learning outcomes. The study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects were 21 students of class VII D MTsN 2 Pamekasan. Data collection techniques include interviews, media expert and material expert validation questionnaires, student response questionnaires, and pre-test and post-test tests. The results of the study show that Genially-based learning media obtained a media & design expert validation score of 89.1% with a very interesting category and a material expert validation score of 93.8% with a very decent category. Student responses to the use of media reached 87.4% with a very good category. The results of the effectiveness test showed an increase in the average score of students from 68.10 in the pre-test to 89.52 in the post-test with a difference of 21.43 points. The results of the Paired Sample t-Test showed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05) which indicated a significant difference between learning outcomes before and after the use of the media. These findings indicate that Genially-based learning media is effective in improving students' understanding and learning outcomes on the material of Umar bin Abdul Aziz's Leadership Style in SKI learning. This research contributes to the development of innovative and interactive digital learning media in SKI learning in madrasas.
