Abstract
This study aimed to determine the physical fitness level and nutritional status of Petanque athletes at Universitas PGRI Pontianak. The research employed a quantitative descriptive approach using a survey method. The population and sample consisted of 15 athletes selected through the total sampling technique. Physical fitness was measured using the Indonesian Physical Fitness Test (TKJI) for ages 16–19 years, which has been standardized by the Ministry of National Education, while nutritional status was assessed by measuring body weight using a digital scale and height using a stadiometer, followed by the calculation of Body Mass Index (BMI). Data were analyzed descriptively using frequency and percentage. The results showed that the athletes’ physical fitness was predominantly in the Good category, with 10 athletes (66.67%), followed by Very Good with 2 athletes (13.33%), Moderate with 2 athletes (13.33%), and Poor with 1 athlete (6.67%). Nutritional status indicated that 13 athletes (86.67%) were in the Normal category and 2 athletes (13.33%) were classified as Overweight. These findings indicate that most athletes have good physical fitness and nutritional status, providing a basis for evaluating training programs and supporting the continuous development of athletes.
