Abstract
Cloud computing is a new technology that offers the potential to enhance service delivery, access to digital resources, and reduce operational costs in educational libraries. However, little economic return has been realized in educational libraries from cloud computing investments. This study explored how communication strategies influence the economic returns from cloud computing investments in educational libraries and was guided by the Technology Acceptance Model, using a descriptive survey research design. The results show that educational libraries are increasingly adopting cloud computing technologies and investing in related infrastructure, services, and human capacity to enhance library operations and service delivery. The study concludes that effective communication tactics are essential to the deployment and use of cloud computing technologies in educational libraries. The study recommends the development and implementation of clear and structured communication strategies to support the planning, implementation, and management of cloud computing technologies.
