Abstract
Laws put in place some institutions to execute and enforce rights of women workers in Nigeria. The institutions are empowered to fight against discrimination again women in labour matters. The primary sources of information for this study are statutes such as the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (As Amended), Trade Disputes Act 1976, Labour Act 2004, the United Nations Agreements, National Action Plan on Women Peace and Security, National Human Rights Commission (Amendment) Act 2010 and judicial authorities. These are supported by secondary sources of law such as textbooks, journals, magazines, newspapers and websites. It is the finding of this study that the institutions appear not to be proactive in the fight against discrimination against women workers; and that the institutional responses on the fight against discrimination against women in labour matters have been under-utilized.
