Abstract
The internalization of independence and national values needs to be cultivated from an early age through meaningful learning activities tailored to children's developmental stages. This study aims to analyze the implementation of independence values in Early Childhood Education (ECE) through the series of August 17th celebration activities at RA Ma'arif Kejiwan. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques included participant observation, in-depth interviews with educators and the school principal, and documentation. The results indicate that the internalization of independence values such as nationalism, mutual cooperation (gotong royong), courage, perseverance, and sportsmanship is integrated into educational competitions, art performances, and a simple flag ceremony. These activities are designed around a play-based learning approach that holistically stimulates the six domains of child development. This implementation successfully enhanced children's active engagement and their intuitive understanding of togetherness and patriotism. The study concludes that August 17th celebration activities in ECE institutions serve as an effective contextual medium for instilling national character from an early age.
