Abstract
Healthy and fit lifestyle literacy is important for supporting students’ physical well-being, healthy behavior, and active participation in school activities. However, students’ understanding and awareness of healthy lifestyle practices and physical fitness need to be strengthened through contextual and participatory education. This community service program aimed to strengthen healthy and fit lifestyle culture literacy among students of Advent Junior High School Abepura through educational and practical training activities. The program used a participatory approach involving students as participants. Activities included identification of students’ understanding, delivery of educational materials on healthy lifestyles and physical fitness, interactive discussions, activities, and evaluation of participants’ understanding and responses. The results indicated that the training contributed positively to students’ understanding and awareness of maintaining health, engaging in regular physical activity, and developing healthy and fit lifestyle habits. Participatory learning also encouraged students to become actively involved in discussions and activities related to healthy living. The program suggests that school-based health and fitness literacy activities can complement efforts to strengthen healthy lifestyle among adolescents and should be implemented through collaboration among schools, teachers, and students.
