Abstract
The objective of the research was to analyze the perception of distance education management during the pandemic at the UBV, Falcón campus, focusing on the limited technical preparation and the few technological resources available to both teachers and students. The theoretical framework is based on the definition of Leal (2006). The research followed a qualitative approach under the interpretive paradigm and a hermeneutic method. In-depth interviews were used, conducted with a guide to 18 key informants, consisting of nine teachers and nine students from the different programs offered at the campus. The collected information was analyzed through the interpretation of the participants' discourse. The findings suggest a meaningful reflection on how to continue with distance education, highlighting the need for a diagnosis on teaching competencies, student readiness, and technological requirements. This diagnosis would be essential for developing strategies to improve the pedagogical process. Although the university managed to complete the academic cycle with the available resources, both teachers and students need more institutional support in terms of equipment provision and internet access to meet the goals of this modality, especially given the context.
