Abstract
Introduction: The patient with chronic kidney disease (CKD) in all its stages, needs comprehensive care by the multidisciplinary team; of the most important preventive activities is vaccination. Immunization should be a priority in care, to reduce risks of morbidity and mortality from preventable infectious diseases, given its high vulnerability and prevalent exposure to hospital environments, which makes social distancing and confinement impossible.
Objective: To know the percentage of vaccination compliance of the adult patient with hemodialysis in the period of Third Level hospital care from May to July 2022.
Material and Methods: Clinical study with observational, prospective design, the type of study corresponds to a descriptive cross-sectional. The selection criteria were patients of the Hemodialysis Center in Northwestern Mexico, in the period from May to July 2022 in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora. Feasibility and ethical aspects: The necessary human, physical and material resources were available to carry out the research study; such as the hemodialysis service, the number of patients and the necessary infrastructure to carry out this study. It was considered without risk, since the method applied was the collection of data from the vaccination card.
Results: The results concluded that only 0.4% of the patients have a complete vaccination schedule, for which the working hypothesis is accepted, "the percentage of compliance is less than 70% of the population".
Conclusion: It is necessary to promote the intervention of personnel in the hemodialysis area to detect non-compliance with vaccination in users in order to disseminate information and promote compliance with vaccines, managing to improve immunization rates.
