Abstract
The experiment was developed in the year 2023 to 2024, at the San Antonio ranch, El Diamante locality, Martínez de la Torre, Veracruz. With the objective of evaluating the double application of ethephon in Persian lime grafted on different rootstocks to increase fruit yield. The treatments were Persian lime grafted on Volkameriana lemon, C35 and Carrizo with two applications of ethephon at a dose of 500 ml·L-1, Agrio Orange with one application of ethephon at a dose of 500 ml·L-1, and Agrio orange as a control without application. . The experimental design was a completely randomized block with 5 treatments and 5 repetitions. The variables evaluated were number of harvested flowers and fruits per square meter of canopy, fruit weight, fruit diameter, shell thickness, percentage of export fruit and yield estimate per square meter of canopy. The highest number of flowers per square meter of canopy in the first evaluation was 32 in Persian lime in Carrizo with double application of ethephon 500 ml·L-1 with statistical differences (P≤0.05) between treatments. In the second evaluation, the highest number of flowers was 40 in Persian lime in C35 with statistical differences (P≤0.05) between treatments. The physical characteristics of the fruit were modified by the rootstock used. The percentage of fruit for export was greater than 80% and the highest fruit yield per square meter of crown was 9,329 g in Persian lime grafted in C35 with double application of ethephon.
