Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of the Mathematics Education program at Cotabato State University on the career of its graduates. The descriptive-correlational research design was used in order to determine how the Mathematics Education curriculum has prepared the career of CSU graduates. Through the use of purposive sampling, the researchers selected 20 alumni who graduated from 2016 to 2019. Data was gathered through a validated researcher-developed survey questionnaire with a high Cronbach’s alpha reliability (0.85), reflecting strong reliability. Distributions of data were analyzed using frequencies and percentages, as well as means and weighted means for Descriptive analysis. A Pearson Product-Moment Correlation was conducted to measure relationships between curriculum effectiveness and career outcome variables. The curriculum has generally been viewed as effective based on three key areas: content, pedagogy and practicum experience with an overall weighted mean of 3.82 or agree. The study revealed a very strong and significant positive relationship between curriculum and career readiness (r = 0.885, p = 0.000), and a strong significant relationship between practicum experience and career readiness (r = 0.652, p = 0.002). However, pedagogical skills showed no significant relationship with career readiness (r = - 0.335, p = 0.149). The study concluded that the curriculum helped the graduates to be career ready due to curriculum content and practicum experience that they gained while studying. The findings suggest the importance of strengthening curriculum implementation and practical training to further enhance graduate career readiness.
