The greatness of the impact of musical creation on the development of human life and the spiritual world is undoubtedly embodied in the works of prominent creators. In this very vein, the article highlights the scientific and practical activities of the musicologist, his scientific and theoretical articles, major treatises, and the results of scientific and practical research aimed at a modern understanding of musical tradition. The scientist's reliance on scientific criteria in any practical activity has always determined his success. All achievements in this field have been formed as a result of his research methodology. It is pointed out that the author's musical perception was characterized by reliance on history and modernity, theory and practical data, yet the primary source in comprehending classical music is the process of live performance. This is because many principles of music are inevitably harmonized with direct performance. From the creation of musical instruments, traditions, performers, composers, modern interpretations, and even the sources of styles—everything begins with performance. The Uzbek national performing art, formed and developed over centuries, can undoubtedly be called an ocean of sciences containing the finest factors and knowledge of the musical world. Without science, it is impossible to attain the laws, spiritual world, and secrets of music. The perception of music and a creative approach have always proven effective as a key to knowledge. The creative activity of Otanazar Matyakubov is a prime example of this.
