Abstract
This article examines the pedagogical potential and methodological foundations of using artificial intelligence technologies to develop mathematical literacy among primary school students. Mathematical literacy is interpreted not merely as the ability to perform arithmetic operations, but as a set of competencies involving the application of mathematical knowledge to everyday situations, problem analysis, logical reasoning, mathematical modelling, and independent decision-making. The study analyzes the potential of artificial intelligence-based educational tools to identify individual learning needs, adjust task complexity, provide immediate feedback, and personalize students’ learning activities. A pedagogical model for integrating artificial intelligence into primary mathematics education is proposed, incorporating diagnostic, adaptive, interactive, and reflective stages. The model consists of target-oriented, content-based, technological, activity-based, and outcome-oriented components. The proposed approach is expected to contribute not only to strengthening students’ mathematical knowledge but also to developing logical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and the transfer of mathematical knowledge to real-life contexts.
