Abstract
This article studies the national-mental characteristics of the image of a woman in Uzbek and English stories and its psychological interpretation in a comparative-typological manner. The artistic expression of such factors as national mentality, family relations, social environment, moral values, traditions and personal freedom in the formation of the image of a woman is analyzed.
